Racing extinction

I watched a movie about extinction and what we are doing to prevent or at least slow down the extinction of animals. Evidently we aren't doing that much. For most of the movie they were in Hong Kong and saw shark fins (which are illegal) everywhere. The thought that people are doing illegal things so openly kinda freaks me out. I wonder what other illegal things that people are doing.

I would like to focus on the illegal shark meat and shark fin trade. First of all during the video they visited multiple shark fin trading posts. There were whole roof tops filled edge to edge with shark fins, and mist of these place capture the shark cut off the fins and then throw it back into the water. A shark with no fins can't swim of course, so the shark just slowly sinks to the bottom of the ocean and struggles and tries to swim. If the trade of shark fin stop then all the people working at the shark fin facilities wouldn't have a job, but that wouldn't matter because they should all go to jail.
