Should North Carolinians be afraid of earthquakes
Should people in North Carolina be afraid if an earthquake. Well NC isn't on the edge of a tectonic plate which is where earthquakes happen, but there could possibly be damage from an Earthquake depending on where and how big the quake is. The biggest Earthquake was "The great earthquakes of 1811 -1812 centered in the Mississippi Valley near New Madrid, Missouri, were felt throughout North Carolina. Intensity VI effects were observed in the western part of the State."(http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/states/north_carolina/history.php)
